Beauty School Stories - The "Clics"

In Beauty School most of the students form these informal groups called "Clics". They section off like in that prison movie OZ. Which takes us to the Greek Clic, the only group that had a rich outcast. Her name was Effie she was loud, obnoxious, heavyset, black long hair pulled back in a tight braid; she basically reminded me of Costello (From that old TV show Abbott & Costello) She said her dad owned a Diner and when she got out of school he would buy her a salon. The other two students who I remember from that group were Paul, he was neat, slim, quite and in the closet at the time. And finally Ina, she was nice, friendly and attractive but when she pulled all her hair back a little scary (she would never pull her hair back). Guys would come to the school and compliment her derriere.

Beauty School Stories - The Students - Wanda

Wanda was one of the students who would call me El Muerto because I was so white, so unTan. Whenever I would walk by her and her friends they would always say something that I didn't understand and then one girl would translate. "Hey Peter, Wanda said she would like to take care of you in the bathroom, you don't have to do anything in return." Uhhh, no thanks, I'm O'k... "Hey Peter, you look sexy today." Uhhh, Thanks..bye... "Que Pasa Pedro Que Pasa"... Wanda was a tall, strong woman with very long hair, I would not feel comfortable being alone with her. One day I saw Wanda waiting in front of the school after school hours. She was waiting for the school director...of course... she needed to boost her grade to pass. The director would help many women boost their grades;-)

Pacific Coast Highway 1

Driving From San Francisco to LA was exciting. I never imagined how high and rugged the cliffs would be. It was like driving thru a dream land. This is an experience not to be missed; everyone should do this trip, but give yourself a few days to enjoy the ride. And don't forget to fill up your Gas tank! It was a 12hr drive.

EBAY LIVE!

Last week I went to Ebay Live! It was a great event and experience. This is my favorite company to invest in and do business with. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet the great staff and their fearless leader Meg Whitman the CEO of EBAY ( I told her to keep up the good work, since I plan on using my EBAY stock to fund my retirement ). I like all the new technology they introduced during this event. This company is so intune with their market that they actually listen to your suggestions and implement them! I will definitely be back to this event next year:-) We also met many nice interesting people, who love EBAY. Nice to meet you Bob Bull and Alice!

Successful Investing

Saving is the Key to Successful Investing

Here is an example from my own recent personal budget. Last month, as I sat down to write a check for the cable bill, I stopped short. I hadn't watched cable TV in months, so how much did I really need it? I called my cable company and cancelled the service and then subscribed to netflix, the online movie rental service. Savings: $100 a month ($120 for cable minus 20 for netflix ). Month in and month out.

I'm sure you can find similar savings annuities in your life. I'm always looking at ways to save time( less bills, less filing and less check writing equals more time ) and cut some expenses, I am Changing my health insurance policy, and my brokerage services (where I've just consolidated and moved all my accounts to save monthly service fees and reduce all the incoming mail).

Of course, that $100 isn't saved yet. If it just gets commingled with the rest of the money in my checking account, I'm pretty sure I'll wind up spending it without even noticing it.

So, the next step is to make sure it goes automatically into an investment account. My company, has set up its payroll system for electronic direct deposit and I can allocate my paycheck among several accounts. To make sure the $100 really does get saved, I set up my electronic direct deposit to put the entire amount straight into an investing account. (If your employer doesn't offer you this alternative, you can set up an account with ShareBuilder.com that will take the money automatically out of your checking account each month.)

Putting that money into an investment account as quickly as possible is a key step. It's the start of the kind of positive feedback loop you need to build if you're to become a successful saver in a Spend! Spend! Spend! culture.

My method has a built-in positive re-enforcement mechanism: By setting up a dedicated investment vehicle, I can watch the savings increase every pay period. That activity, in turn, helps me feel that i will have a secure future and that puts a smile on my face.

I only invest in what I know and with the companies I do business with everyday. My current favorites are Ebay, IAC/InterActiveCorp, Yahoo, Google, Starbucks, Citibank, Coke, Microsoft, American Express.

Raw Food for Energy and Power

I work seven days a week at least 12 hours per day. When I was younger, I would have been too tired to work this kind of schedule. During a college course, I learned a little about eating right and realized what I had learned about eating at home and in school may be all wrong. After graduating and joining the work force I slowly began to change my diet and choose the correct food combinations, I included more vegetables less meat and my health and energy improved.

I would eat meats (or any type of protein) with vegetables or Pasta(Any type of Carbs) with vegetables. Never combine the two. Eat desert or fruits a couple of hours later as a seperate meal. Eliminate acid producing foods: no vinegar, no soda, less Orange juice, less wine, less beer. Eat melons seperate from any type of food. After several years my diet has evolved info a mostly raw food, vegetarian sometimes vegan diet.
For Breakfast I drink a smoothy.

The ingredients are as follows: half of a ten ounce bag of organic tropical fruit(mango, banana, strawberries, Papaya(has digestive enzymes), 2 scoops of "The Ultimate Meal" powder and 1/4 scoop of Nature's Way Alive!, a handful of organic wild blueberries and blackberries, one ounce Lily Of The Desert Aloe Vera Juice, Tbsp of eidon Liquid multimineral, a cup of Penta water.(I don't recommend soy milk for men).

Lunch
Any type of bean/lentil soup and a salad carrots, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, avocado, green peas, fresh articoke hearts and olive oil and lemon juice mixed in.

Dinner
a macrobiotic Plate with black beans, red beans, broccoli, spinach, guacamoli and rice. or Vegetarian sushi or sometimes fish.

This is just a basic guideline of what i eat and how my diet has evolved. Good luck on your journey to better health.

How I found a cure for an Employee's Ulcer

I believe that if we learn to google properly, we can find the solutions we are looking for.
One of my employees would always complain about her Ulcer, waking up with pain, not being able to drink or eat certain foods. Her Doctor recommended previset, an Upper Endoscopy then antibiotics.

I hate taking drugs or unnecessary medical procedures and of course I like to help others. So I did a search to find a cure for her and I came up with Mastika. Now she feels great; she doesn't wake up with stomach pains, she can eat and drink almost anything. A friend of hers from Greece actually sent the resin from the tree to her. She would chew it and then swallow it. She barely takes it anymore.

Mastika is a new supplement containing a natural resin only found on the Greek island of Chios. It is known to eradicate helicobacter pylori. 500mg capsules.

Mastic Gum is a natural resin from the Pistacia Lentiscus tree. This is a species native to arid, subtropical climates, which grows on the small Greek Island of Chios. The Pistacia lentiscus is an evergreen tree which grows 2-4 meters in height. It grows slowly and lives for 50-60 years and tends to be bush-like, which makes tapping the resin difficult, therefore trees in cultivation are pruned to encourage stem development. The mature plants generally consist of one or two thick contorted stems with an umbrella-shaped crown.

Beauty School Stories Prequel

My College Advisor(an ex Marine) told me that in order to achieve success you need to find a career you really enjoy, Something you could do 24hrs per day. He actually grabbed me by the neck and told me to graduate and go out in the real world and find yourself. Just do it, everything will work out.

During college I was a nightclub promoter, then a junior accountant...Too monotonous. Then I worked for HOT 97 on the Hotpatrol with Angie Martinez, Noel aka Speedy and a great staff that was fun but I don't have a great voice and I didn't see myself in the radio business. After college I was a stock broker, insurance broker, Financial Planner, real estate broker; I moved to Arizona tried various odd jobs(very funny stories that I will write about in a seperate post). I moved back to NYC almost got married broke it off one month before the wedding date(another crazy story). So I stayed home for two weeks; came to some conclusions and made some decisions.
#1. I hate telemarketing.
#2. I don't want to work with a bunch of guys.

#12. How do I learn to understand women better? I don't have a sister.
#13. Every woman needs to have her hair cut eventually.
#14. My dad was very successful as a hairstylist.
#15. Maybe I'll meet someone in beauty school and take over my dad's salon!

Penta Water...I like it!

I drink this water everyday and I like it! Drinking water is the easiest way to improve your overall feeling of wellness. Here is some info:
What Makes Penta Unique?
Penta is the Purest Bottled Water on the Market

Penta water undergoes a rigorous 13-step purification process in a state-of-the-art bottling facility. This process—which far exceeds FDA standards for bottled water—is designed to remove every possible impurity found in water, including arsenic, bacteria, chlorine, chromium 6, fluoride, lead, MTBE, and pesticides. These impurities have been found in other drinking water, but will never be found in Penta!

No chemicals are ever used to purify Penta water. They begin with regular water that measures approximately 550 parts per million (ppm) of total dissolved solids (TDS). At the end of this 13-step purification process, the TDS will be less than 0.5 ppm—making Penta the purest known bottled water on the market (even purer than distilled water). It takes about 11 hours to make a bottle of Penta water.

Penta is the Only Bottled Water with a Patented Physics Process

Penta undergoes a patented physics process using high-energy sound waves that gives Penta many unique properties. This proprietary technology, known as the “Penta Process,” actually changes the structure of the water. Penta is the only bottled water that uses physics, not chemicals, to restructure its water. The water is cycled through the Penta Process until a specific set point of thermal energy is released for approximately 7-8 hours, which also effectively pasteurizes the product at or above 140ºF (60ºC).

Proof that Penta is restructured water: Penta has been shown through highly technical scientific testing (spectroscopy) to have 30 percent smaller molecular water clusters. It has also been observed that Penta has a higher boiling point than normal water. Penta’s unique structure is patented and has been verified in a published, peer-reviewed study conducted by scientists at Moscow’s General Physics Institute.

In-vitro studies show an increase in cell survivability by 266%.
In-vitro studies show that Penta water dissolves calcium oxalate monohydrate (the main substance in 85% of kidney stones) three times faster than normal water.
In-vitro studies on human cells reveal that lab distilled water DNA chromosomal mutation rates were 271% greater than Penta water.
Proven More Effective Hydration
Penta’s unique properties may also be responsible for allowing the water to move through the body more quickly for superior hydration.

Countless Penta drinkers say that, through effectively hydrating, they look and feel more youthful, energetic and all around better.

Please note that having smaller molecular clusters is scientific proof of this restructured water, and may NOT contribute to faster hydration.

Cells have two ways of hydrating. First, cells become hydrated when water molecules pass through a tiny channel called aquaporin protein channels. These channels only allow one molecule to pass at a time, therefore, as far as we know, the cluster size doesn’t have any direct correlation to improved hydration.

Second, cells also hydrate through semi-permeable membranes, and smaller clusters may aid in this type of hydration.

The doctor said! Bla Bla Bla... What do doctors know?

During my lifetime I have met and observed many Doctors, some treated me and some treated my family for various aliments. Do they really know what they are talking about or are they just too busy and too focused on a specialty to really know what is going on in our bodies. Why can't they grasp the fact that the body works as a whole? Each organ is not working independently, it's all part of a system. Do the drug companies give them too many perks and freebies? Are they honestly recommending the right solutions when we are ill? Maybe, Maybe not. I always listen to what they say; if I'm not happy with their answer, I find my own. I believe our bodies have the ability to self heal. (I have healed myself and some friends, which I will discuss in another blog) I believe there is a cure for most diseases available somewhere on Earth, you just have to find it. Sometimes the solution is as easy as just eating properly. Most people in America do not eat properly. But you can't blame yourself for that because they taught you in school how to eat unhealthy, your parents ate unhealthy, even the government promoted an unhealthy diet and all the ads on TV are for unhealthy food. Many people in America suffer from Laziness, which should be classified as a disease. It's easy to listen to someone else. It's easy to assume they know more than you. It's easy to just go eat a burger/fries and take a pill!

I Absolve you of all your Excuses...

Everyday we meet new interesting people some think we are fun and exciting some think we are dull and boring but what many people don't realize is that we all are reflections and amplifications of each others personality. If you are a positive person the people around you will feel it and become more postive. If you are negative, people will want to stay away from you. Some people dont believe in the ability of there own mind and they project that towards others. They say "I can't" all the time; "I don't understand", "I can't do that", "I cant draw", "I cant lose weight", "i have issues", "something happened to me when i was younger", "I cant succeed", "Its too hard", "Its too much work", "I cant afford that". I believe that when you really want something, all you have to do is try your best, work really hard at it and you will achieve everything you wanted and more.... and so I absolve you of all your excuses and we begin a new day of "I Can"!
